This is the original release of the 50×50 inch Marvel Universe poster by Ed Hannigan and Joe Rubenstein from 1988, featuring every Marvel Comics character up to that point in time. Take a good look at the pics, the poster is 30 years old and has been rumpled on both the left and right edges with some small tears on both sides and pinholes in each corner. The rumpled edges will not effect the image and framing should smooth it out nicely. An EXTREMELY rare vintage 1988 THE HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE POSTER. This poster features many DC Comics characters and the mock signatures (not the actual signatures) of the artists that drew them. It is the poster of the foldout that was included in that book. Total number of copies of this poster vary but most agree there were no more than a few thousand made, if that since not everyone redeemed their postcard. This is the 1988 release of the 50×50 inch Marvel Universe poster by Ed Hannigan and Joe Rubenstein, featuring every Marvel Comics character up to that point in time. THIS IS NOT THE DYNAMIC FORCES REPRODUCTION. I’ve had this poster since 1988. It hung briefly in my bedroom, before going back in its tube and getting stored in the attic for the last 30 years. Condition: overall, it’s in solid shape for a 31 year old poster, the colors are still vibrant and sharp, but it does have some issues. There is some small degree of foxing on the top edge of the poster (as I said, it was stored in an attic for a long time). This should be able to be removed with proper care and conversation techniques. There’s no odor that I can detect though. There are some small thumb tacks holes where it was hung, and there is some edge wear from the tube. I tried to include photos of any small holes or tears in the paper–all of which are on the edge of the piece. The photos you see are the item for sale. For sale is a VERY nice and clean copy of the send away version of the History if the DC Universe poster signed by 8 of the artists at this past Baltimore Comic Con 2018. It is signed by: Jim Starlin, Jim Steranko, P Craig Russell, Ramona Fradon, Joe Staton, Howard Chaykin, Walt Simonson and Art Adams. I was not able to get pics of every artist signing it unfortunately, but with the exception of Neal Adams if an artist was there who worked on this I had it signed. The signatures on the bottom are printed, the ones along the top are the personal signatures of the artists at the Baltimore Con. Already a rare poster to find, this is now truly a one of a kind and unique piece. ABOUT THE ITEM: This is a very nice Marvel Comics vintage poster that comes signed by Stan Lee. The poster measures approx. 28″ x 32″ and is in excellent condition. As with all vintage posters there is typically some minor wear but these were never displayed. A COA can be provided upon request from Vault Collectibles. I will be listing some other posters from my own collection that were signed by Stan so check them out. As many of you may know (and for those who don’t know) I have been doing signings with Stan for over 10 years. It is truly sad this legend has passed on. I remember during one of our private signings with him in the hotel he broke out in song. It’s a shame what has happened during the past year of his life but he is now home with his wife Joan!
