Tales From The Tube Poster. Limited Numbered Rag Paper Archival Edition Of 80. Art by Rick Griffin. This is the limited Rag Paper version, limited to 80 made. The normal paper version was an edition of 325. We were only able to get a few of these when they were first printed. Obtained directly from S. Tales From The Tube was originally released as a comic book cover. Rick Griffin was a celebrated artist of the 60’s. He created many rock concert posters, paintings and mixed media. He got his start in the Southern California Surf Scene and created many comic book images for Zap Comics and many more. Created the world famous image “Murph The Surf” for Surfer Magazine. WOW what a treat we have for you. There are thousands of different posters. Most of this collection is Signed and Numbered Limited Edition Printings. As a rule of Business we do not end auctions early ever. I do know from some research some of these posters we have sell for Hundreds. This collection was stored in a home that got damp so some posters will have a ripple to them from moisture but many are mint. I have personally cold pressed one of the rippled posters and got the ripples out by putting it under a flat piece of plexiglass and putting alot of weight on it for 48 hours and it was beautiful. This is the 1988 release of the 50×50 inch Marvel Universe poster by Ed Hannigan and Joe Rubenstein, featuring every Marvel Comics character up to that point in time. THIS IS NOT THE DYNAMIC FORCES REPRODUCTION. I’ve had this poster since 1988. It hung briefly in my bedroom, before going back in its tube and getting stored in the attic for the last 30 years. Condition: overall, it’s in solid shape for a 31 year old poster, the colors are still vibrant and sharp, but it does have some issues. There is some small degree of foxing on the top edge of the poster (as I said, it was stored in an attic for a long time). This should be able to be removed with proper care and conversation techniques. There’s no odor that I can detect though. There are some small thumb tacks holes where it was hung, and there is some edge wear from the tube. I tried to include photos of any small holes or tears in the paper–all of which are on the edge of the piece. The photos you see are the item for sale.
