Thank you for your business and please recommend us to your friends! This is a RARE VINTAGE ORIGINAL 1966 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN POSTER, it’s VERY BIG, and it measures about 41 1/2 inches by 30 inches. This 1960’s Amazing Spiderman poster was released at the height of the MMMS (Merry Marvel Marching Society 60’s Fan Club), and it was produced by a company called Personality Posters, who also produced a 1966 poster of the Incredible Hulk. This scarce Spider-man poster features the timeless Spidey pose originated by Steve Ditko, who along with Stan Lee, was the co-creator of Spidey back in 1962 in the silver age Amazing Fantasy 15 comic book. This’66 Spidey poster looks MUCH bigger in person, and it was made back when a poster was a poster! This is the ultimate Spider-man pose, and this classic image art has been used over the years for various toys, for a 1967 Milton Bradley jigsaw puzzle, for the Amazing Spider-man comic cover logo (redrawn by John Romita Sr), etc. This is one of the very first Spider-man posters of all time, and one of the RAREST SPIDER-MAN POSTERS OF ALL TIME. I believe the art on this giant-size Spider-man poster is by Marie Severin, an extremely talented Marvel Bullpen artist, based on the original pose by Steve Ditko. This is so early in Marvel’s history that Spider-man actually has his mouth showing through his mask! Here’s some further history on this Spider-man poster: Just to clarify, this is not the little 17 x 11 inch’66 Spidey poster that was part of an 8 pack posters kit by the Merry Marvel Marching Society that showed the Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, etc. And furthermore, this vintage 1960’s giant-size poster predates the 25 or 26 set of 1971 Marvel Third Eye blacklight posters by 5 years, it predates the 9 or 10 set of 1970 Marvelmania posters by 4 years, and is MUCH rarer! This giant-size Spider-man poster was released when Marvel Mania was still in it’s infancy and was no doubt printed in fairly small quantities. The probably aren’t many left in existence, and most of the few remaining posters are not likely to be intact or in nice condition. IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES (see photos): This Spidey poster still retains it’s gorgeous colors, but has paper tanning, pinholes, minor creases, crinkles, small tears, discolored tape, some stains, missing pieces of paper from the corners, a small amount of paper from the top edge has been trimmed off (look where I’m pointing to it in the photo), etc. With this in mind, I’d only grade this poster as “fair/good” condition (using comic book grading terms). I’m 100 percent certain that many poster collectors and poster sellers would probably grade this poster higher, but I prefer to grade more conservatively. This doesn’t change how rare this Amazing Spiderman poster is one bit, and as I mentioned above, the colors are still gorgeous and it looks MUCH LARGER in person. It’s incredible this scarce poster even survived the 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s, the 2000’s, and now. There can’t be many of these posters left in existence after all these years, and there weren’t that many made to begin with. With the poster but have given a close up photo of the signature for you to compare with other memorabilia signed by Stan Lee. Please note that this is for the poster only and does not include the frame. The plastic covering sheet is to protect and reflect harmful light. As you can see from the photo’s it is doing just that. And check out OUR NEWLY LISTED ITEMS. This is an original cover proof for the Ghost Rider Poster Magazine #1, published by Marvel Comics in July of 1992. This is a full-color uncut/unstapled proof of the cover, including both the front and back covers, and with printing on both sides of the covers, the same way it looks in the published comic (picture 2 shows the reverse side of the page). It has printer color code bars going across the bottom of the front and back covers (see pictures). The proof measures approximately 17 1/2″ by 11 1/2″ when unfolded, and is on smooth high-quality paper. There’s a little bit of light creasing near the top middle edge, and edgewear along the right side edge, but the piece is otherwise in very good condition. Features an awesome cover by fan-favorite GR artist Mark Texeira, with the Spirit of Vengeance looking menacing on his flaming hell-cycle! The left side (back cover) shows images of some of the best Ghost Rider covers from that era, where he battles the Punisher, Spiderman, and Deathlok. The reverse side (inside covers) show the classic image that was used on the famous glow-in-the-dark issue #15 cover, and Danny Ketch holding the flaming skull head. This is a very cool and rare comic collectible that you will hardly ever get a chance to see. A great piece which would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed. Please note that this is an authentic piece from the first printing, not something made for a later reprint or collection book. We have been told there are reprint production art pieces being listed by other sellers that make them seem to be old and from original printings, even though they are not for example, older production art did not have the words on a separate sheet from the images. Those kinds of things were only done much more recently, using computer technology. We advise buyers to be careful, as there are disreputable sellers tricking many people into believing they are purchasing items that are older and more valuable than what they actually are. Some sellers simply do not state their items are from reprints, while others make very long listings and put a tiny mention about reprints buried deep in the listing, and/or use a hard-to-read font color (like yellow) to prevent buyers from seeing this information. Unfortunately, everything else in the listing the title, pictures of the cover of the comic from the 1st printing, etc. This item is a genuine proof from the first print, not something made for a reprint. WOODSTOCK PRESS PASS 1969 – ORIGINAL VERY RARE. NOTE: I edited Rat: Subterranean News in New York and worked with the organizers of Woodstock. I was given a number of press passes to issue to legitimate writers for the underground Press. I just found a couple in an old book binder. Totally legitimate and likely no others in existence? The perfect gift for the old Woodstock veteran. Likely a good investment. KEPT IN A BOOK SINCE THE EVENT. SIZE 2 1/4″ X 3 1/2″. ORIGINAL – LIKE EVERYTHING WE SELL. IN THE 60’S I BOUGHT PSYCHEDELIC POSTERS BECAUSE I LIKED THEM AND THE ARTISTS. I KEPT STUFF FROM THE DEMONSTRATIONS BECAUSE I BELIEVED IN IT. IT TURNED OUT THE BEST INVESTMENT I EVER MADE. IF I WERE YOUNG I WOULD BUILD A COLLECTION OF PUNK ERA POSTERS AND ITEMS BECAUSE SO FEW ARE AROUND AND THEY ARE THE LAST – PRE INTERNET – THAT WERE USED FOR COMMUNICATION. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE GREAT OPPORTUNITIES TO BUILD COLLECTIONS CHEAP THAT AT SOME POINT WILL BE HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER. UNITED FARM WORKERS AND LATINO EFFORTS. Vintage = a poster that was put up on a bulletin board and was used in its day. Also these terms: RARE. Hard to find on search engines and rarely seen by serious collectors.
