It features a great image of Rorschach with his back turned, walking down an alley, with the quote above him’You know what I wish? I wish all the scum of the Earth had one throat and I had my hands about it. The familiar sideways Watchmen title logo is on the left side, and at the bottom is stated “A 12 Issue Deluxe Series By Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons”. The poster is in very good undisplayed condition, with no pinholes, tears, or other major wear commonly seen on vintage posters or prints, and measures approximately 15″ by 22″ when unfolded and is blank on the reverse side. It has some minor scuffing wear. This is a very cool and rare comic collectible, as they were for promotional use and were not made for resale. Promotional posters like this one were not mass-produced or available to the general public, and were often thrown away, so to find a classic one like this that is more than 30 years old and has not been pinned with tacks or taped is rare indeed. The Watchmen introduced such great characters as Dr. Manhattan, Rorschach, The Comedian, Silk Spectre, Nite Owl, and Ozymandias, and brought a depth and realism to comics that it had arguably never seen before. It is one of Moore’s finest works, ranking up there with Batman The Killing Joke, Miracleman, V For Vendetta, From Hell, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and Saga of the Swamp Thing. The Watchmen is considered by many to be the greatest comic book work ever created, and is certainly the most important and influential work produced in comics in the last 25-30 years.
