Featuring artwork by the legendary Jim Steranko, this poster was a promotional insert included in Mediascene #31 (from July, 1978, with a cover feature focused on Star Trek). The poster was obtained directly from Jim Steranko himself, who kept the poster in his private files for decades. When released, Star Trek was only 12 years old, but had already attracted legions of fans, a legion that has only grown as Star Trek celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The poster is also signed by Steranko. Please note- the signature is real. It is the actual, hand-signed signature of Steranko. It is not a pre-printed image on the poster. May vary slightly as to exact location signed but is clear, not smudged, etc. Please see below for important information regarding our provenance guarantee and the availability of COA’s. A legendary and tremendous talent, Jim Steranko (1938) is the Renaissance Man of the industry. An illusionist, escape artist, magician, musician, writer, historian, philanthropist, publisher and, first and foremost, an artist not only for comics but as both a novel cover and film production illustrator. In an industry that was at the time mostly considered cartoonish and only for children, Steranko brought the noir sensibility to comics, not only outstripping but making his contemporaries take note. His characterizations, narrative themes, visual style and the sheer power and action of his art are legendary hallmarks of his work, a study of which includes a long and prestigious list of projects and characters. From his work on Marvels Nick Fury: Agent of Shield, The Uncanny X-Men, Strange Tales, and Captain America to his stunning covers for The Shadow novels and other great pulp characters, Sterankos work has also found its way into film and other media; Bladerunner, Sherlock Holmes, his landmark History of Comics, Bram Stokers Dracula, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and countless novel covers to name but a few. Inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2006, he is considered by many to be the Godfather of Modern Comics. Excepting pack-pulled autograph trading cards, CGC Signature Series, signed Sideshow prints, and like collectibles, all autographed items Vault Collectibles sells were personally witnessed, by myself, being signed by the writer, artist, or celebrity in question. No third party is involved. Further, art sketches – and most published original art I sell – were obtained directly from the artist themselves. Yes, of like items. Such as: several comics can fit in one media box, as can more than one record. Multiple art pages can easily be combined because they are light and thin. For instance, two statues require a much bigger box. Same goes for CGCs, as the package gets bigger and heavier as you go. Ive had some bad experiences. You neednt worry; we are professionals who value your business and want your item to arrive safely as much as you do. I have been collecting for over 30 years. I send out items the way I would like to receive them. This is normal for our Post Office and will not impact you receiving your item in a timely matter. What is the difference between a RUN and a LOT? A RUN will be a collection of consecutive issues with no breaks in between them. If it says RUN of #s 1 – 50 you will receive 50 consecutive comics. A LOT will be within a certain range, so a 50pc LOT will not contain consecutive books. See ABOUT ME for 1000’s of original art pages in stock. At Anthony’s Comic Book Art we’re caffeinated to give you excellent customer service! Pictured left to right: Nicole, Connelly, Bobby, Anthony, Shannon, Amanda, and Chris. AS SEEN ON TV.
