VERY RARE PRINTERS PROOF 1/1 SIGNED vintage original 25.5″ x 38″ large undated screenprint poster by The P! The Pizz has been called the “Lord of Lowbrow, ” and his work was published in Ed Roth’s Rat Fink Comix, Scratchez and Rip Off Comix. Despite being widely published, Pizz was possibly best known for his cover designs for the record label Sympathy for the Record Industry. Works by The Pizz are considered one of the original sources of “cartoon expressionism”, inspiring waves of artists. Artists like The Pizz, Coop, Anthony Ausgang, and many others drew from hot-rod influenced Kustom Kulture, surfing, skateboarding, tattooing, underground comics, Beatnik and tiki styles and exhibited their work in galleries like La Luz De Jesus as fine art. This poster has been stored fla since it was printed and is in nice shape – some edge & corner bumps/no pinholes/never hung- from my personal collection, gifted to me by Frank Kozik.
