Manny’s Vintage Mintage presents. The SUPER-RARE item for sale here is. One of appx 200 promotional posters made for the 1973 Broadway Science Fiction play. Part 1: My Battlefield, My Body! Famous for his renderings of THE AVENGERS, X-MEN, SUPERMAN and BATMAN, and so many other. Unlike the few that have been ever offered for sale over the years. This copy was NOT FOLDED FOR DISTRIBUTION to theatrical outlets!! Briefly pinned to a wall 50 years ago [one untorn pinhole at each of the four corners] I then subsequently stored it in a tube for the last 46 years. Aside from the pinholes, there is a slight tear in the white margin at the bottom right corner [see pics]. Aside from that, and the expected slight ruffling of edges. THERE ARE NO TEARS/RIPS TO BE FOUND ANYWHERE IN THE IMAGE AREA! PERFECT CONDITION FOR FRAMING or MOUNTING! ALSO – I have a 2nd copy in even better condition that I had Neal sign in silver marker at the 2018 NYC Big Apple Con. Also spelled Warp, was a trilogy of American science-fiction plays created by the Organic Theatre Company of Chicago Illinois, in 1971 by co-authors Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, From Beyond, Bride Of Re-Animator, Dagon) and Lenny Kleinfeld under the pseudonym Bury St. The three parts were My Battlefield My Body, Unleashed! And To Die Alive! Chicago’s Organic Theater Company opened the original play Warp! Co-author Stuart Gordon in 2002 recalled its original inspiration: It was three full-length plays that were inspired by Marvel Comics. Well, we weren’t able to get the rights to any of the characters from Marvel, so we created our own. But I would say that Warp was very influenced by comic books like Dr. Billed by the company as “the world’s first science fiction epic-adventure play in serial form”, it was performed for over a year before moving to Broadway. The Chicago cast included John Heard, André De Shields, Cecil O’Neal, J. Pat Miller, and Bruce A. The costume designer was first-timer Cookie Gluck, a former art major at the University of Wisconsin who was married to actor O’Neal. The lighting designer was David K. The production moved to New York City’s Ambassador Theatre on Broadway, where part one of the trilogy, My Battlefield, My Body, ran seven previews beginning January 31, 1973, and eight performances from February 14-18, 1973. It marked the Broadway debut of John Heard, who played David Carson/Lord Cumulus. Other cast-members included Tom Towles as Prince Chaos, and Keith Szarabajka as the young David. Comic-book and commercial artist Neal Adams was art director, and also did the poster and program art. REMEMBER, you can make a Best Offer if you think the price is too rich for you. I have’automatic offer rejections’ TURNED OFF, which means i will see and consciously consider every offer. (doesn’t mean I will accept, tho’).
