This is a rare vintage original 1972 Amazing Spiderman Buddah Records “Rockcomic” promo poster (not the album itself), and this poster measures about 22 1/4 inches by 22 1/4 inches. This rare vintage Spidey poster is in VERY FINE/NEAR MINT CONDITION, it was. AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN DISPLAYED. It’s still bright and colorful! So it’s beyond rare! This Marvel Universe poster features the wall-crawling artwork of golden age, silver age, and bronze age Marvelmania Era artist JOHN ROMITA SR, who had a long happy run as the main artist on the Amazing Spider-man comic books from the mid 1960’s to the early 1970’s! This is absolutely the most spectacular Spider-man poster Jazzy Johnny Romita ever drew! This particular Amazing Spider-man image was so iconic, that it was later used on other Marvel comic book toys and other merchandise. VERY IMPORTANT INFO: Unlike the other 1972 Spidey posters that came folded inside the old 33 1/3 lp vinyl record albums, this’72 Spider-man Rock Comic promotional poster is ROLLED and was NEVER folded, making it much more rare, desirable, and displayable than the folded version! It was set aside for over 30 years and escaped being folded during the manufacturing process and avoided being put in the albums during production. And check out OUR NEWLY LISTED ITEMS. This is a rare original unused promo poster for the epic DC Comics Legends series from 1986. It features artwork by the legendary John Byrne. Byrne is a true legend spanning 4 decades in comics as both a writer and artist, and is known for his classic runs on the Uncanny X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Alpha Flight, and She-Hulk, as well as for revamping the Man of Steel during DC’s overhaul of the Superman character in the 1980’s, and this is a truly classic straight-on pin-up image that includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel Shazam! , and Justice League of America and Teen Titans members like the Flash, Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Beast Boy, Firestorm, Dr. Fate, J’onn J’onzz the Martian Manhunter, the Elongated Man, and Robin. The poster is in very good condition, with no pinholes, tears, or other major wear commonly seen on vintage posters or prints, but please note it does have some age spotting (foxing) on the back. It measures approximately 16″ by 22″ when unfolded and is blank on the reverse side. Also, the colors are richer and deeper than what came out in the image. This is a very cool and rare comic collectible, as they were for promotional use and were not made for resale. Promotional posters like this one were not mass-produced or available to the general public, and were often thrown away, so to find a classic one like this that is more than 30 years old and has not been pinned with tacks or taped is rare indeed.
