And check out OUR NEWLY LISTED ITEMS. This is an original unused promotional poster for the Watchmen series, released by DC Comics in 1986. It features a great image of Rorschach with his back turned, walking down an alley, with the quote above him’You know what I wish? I wish all the scum of the Earth had one throat and I had my hands about it. The familiar sideways Watchmen title logo is on the left side, and at the bottom is stated “A 12 Issue Deluxe Series By Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons”. The poster is in very good undisplayed condition, with no pinholes, tears, or other major wear commonly seen on vintage posters or prints, and measures approximately 15″ by 22″ when unfolded and is blank on the reverse side. These do not really show in the scan, so please be aware of this. This is a very cool and rare comic collectible, as they were for promotional use and were not made for resale. Promotional posters like this one were not mass-produced or available to the general public, and were often thrown away, so to find a classic one like this that is around 40 years old and has not been pinned with tacks or taped is rare indeed. The Watchmen introduced such great characters as Dr. Manhattan, Rorschach, The Comedian, Silk Spectre, Nite Owl, and Ozymandias, and brought a depth and realism to comics that it had arguably never seen before. It is one of Moore’s finest works, ranking up there with Batman The Killing Joke, Miracleman, V For Vendetta, From Hell, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and Saga of the Swamp Thing. The Watchmen is considered by many to be the greatest comic book work ever created, and is certainly the most important and influential work produced in comics in the last 30-40 years. It has also received even greater attention since the release of Doomsday Clock and the classic HBO series and movie. This is a great item for any fan of this landmark series, and would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed. Check out our other auctions for more great items. The edges are slightly tattered from original perforation and one small hole and tear in upper left corner, probably from a pin. Otherwise, there are no Scuffs, dirt marks, folds, or creases anywhere. The image has remained bright and unfaded with barley any yellowing. The Poster is 16.5″ x 12″. This poster is in excellent condition!

And check out OUR NEWLY LISTED ITEMS. This is the very rare 1960’s Mighty Thor poster print, made by Personality Posters. This is one of the earliest Silver Age officially licensed Marvel Thor items. It measures approximately 12″ by 16 1/8″ and features a truly classic full-body pinup image of the God Of Thunder, The Mighty Thor, swinging his mystical hammer Mjolnir! It is overall in very good condition, particularly considering its age more than 50 years old! , but please note it does have wear that needs to be noted. You can see in the picture there is assorted creasing/crinkling, with a heavy fold/crease mark on the right side. It extends about 3 across the middle of Thor’s cape diagonally towards the paper’s edge. There is paper loss at the middle left edge, with a couple of chips out of the paper. There are also small pinholes in all four corners. The main image is still very nice, with sharp vibrant colors, and if the piece were matted, would display nicely. This is an outstanding collectible piece that would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and is a must-have for the collection of any serious Marvel Comics fan.
